As it turns out, Arkane’s new time-looping stealth ’em up Deathloop will be part of our lives, and last night we were bombarded with all sorts of crazy ideas and solutions, sometimes even though we have no idea what they are. I can’t get enough of it.
The game is developed by Arkane Studios (based out of Austin, Texas), and they’ve been doing business as a small independent studio for nearly 10 years now. They’ve had some successes that have led them to be a bit more prominent in video games, but they’ve always been about making games and making money. And now, Deathloop is their newest project.
Deathloop is going to be a stealthy game that has you creeping around the island and using stealth on your opponents. Your ultimate goal is to take out the Visionaries and save the day. Its easy to make mistakes in these games and it can be tough to have a strategy or a plan. Deathloop is designed as a quick game that offers some of the same features of a game like Assassin’s Creed, but for a much more limited time.
the Deathloop team is really trying to make the game more accessible to people who aren’t as hardcore RPG gamers as the creators of Assassin’s Creed, but its still a bit of an experiment.
Deathloop is still a bit of an experiment, but at least it has some exciting, interesting, and challenging features. There’s a huge cast of characters, a variety of powers, and some cool secrets to find.
For now its a game about a small group of people that can die, but don’t die. But if you play it right, Deathloop might offer a more interesting, challenging, and entertaining story than anything we’ve seen in a game involving death before. I’m already a little bit addicted.
